Progress Tracking
See how your dog improves over time.
The Progress Dashboard
The Progress tab shows charts and trends across all your recording sessions. This is where the real value of consistent monitoring becomes visible — you can see whether your training approach is working.
Charts
Vocalization Rate — barks per minute across sessions. A downward trend means your dog is vocalizing less.
Quiet Ratio — percentage of each session that was quiet. An upward trend means longer periods of calm.
Time to First Bark — how long your dog waits before the first vocalization. Longer is better.
Quiet Streak — the longest quiet period in each session. Shows capacity for sustained calm.
AI Insights PRO
With BarkCard Pro, the app analyzes your session history and generates personalized insights. These appear as cards on the dashboard and on individual report cards. Examples:
- "Vocalization rate has dropped by more than half. Your dog is making real progress."
- "Quiet ratio improved from 65% to 89% over the last 5 sessions."
- "Try a walk before recording — a tired dog finds it easier to settle."
These insights are generated locally from your data — they're rule-based pattern matching, not cloud AI. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Tips for Consistent Tracking
- Record sessions at similar times of day for comparable results.
- Use the notes field to record what you tried differently each time.
- Sessions under 5 minutes may not give meaningful data — aim for 15+ minutes.
- Look at trends over weeks, not individual sessions. Day-to-day variation is normal.
- Hidden sessions (from Settings > Storage) are excluded from progress charts.
