v1.0.2
2026-08-29LatestBarkCard v1.0.2
Fixes remote monitoring, adds reaction clips for comfort sounds, and gives quiet sessions a proper report card.
Fixes
- Remote monitoring — the live feed showed nothing. If the port was already taken, usually by a second copy of BarkCard, the server failed to start but the app still displayed a QR code for it, and every video frame and stat was then discarded without a word. The port is now checked before the code is shown, and a clash says so plainly.
- Recording could start twice — a failed start left the button looking untouched, so pressing it again began a second recording while the first kept running in the background, filling your disk. Only one recording can now be in progress at a time.
- Sessions left open by a crash are now closed automatically on the next launch, instead of lingering and holding on to their footage.
- Comfort sound names vanished when moving between versions of the app. Names are stored with the clips now.
- Comfort sound playback failed silently on some machines. Recorded clips are converted properly, and a clip that will not play says why instead of doing nothing.
- Muted computer — if comfort sounds are on and your volume is muted or very low, BarkCard asks before starting rather than playing to an empty room.
- Startup failures are explained — if BarkCard cannot open your data, it now says why instead of closing instantly with no message.
New
- Reaction clips (Pro) — when a comfort sound plays, BarkCard keeps the footage that follows so you can see how your dog responded. Reactions appear on the report card and in the highlight reel, and the session timeline marks the moment each sound played.
- Report cards for quiet sessions — a session with no barking now produces a proper report card and a short reel sampled across the recording. A quiet dog is the result you were hoping for, and it should look like one.
- Rename and disable individual comfort sounds, and choose how much footage to keep after each one plays.
Notes
Update from v1.0.1 through the app, or download below. Your sessions, report cards, and comfort sounds carry over.
