BarkCard processes everything locally on your computer. Your audio, video, session data, and pet information never leave your device. We don't have accounts, we don't have a cloud, and we don't collect your data. This page explains the few exceptions.
All session recordings, vocalization events, video clips, highlight reels, report cards, and pet profile data are stored in a local SQLite database and local files on your hard drive. BarkCard never transmits this data anywhere.
During onboarding, BarkCard asks if you'd like to help improve the app by sharing anonymous usage data. This is entirely optional, off by default, and can be changed at any time in Settings.

If you purchase BarkCard Pro, the app contacts our server once to activate your license key. After activation, the license is cached locally and the app works offline. The activation request contains only the license key — no personal data.
The BarkCard website (barkcard.app) uses Vercel Analytics for anonymous, aggregate page view counting. Vercel Analytics does not use cookies, does not collect IP addresses, and does not track individual users. It tells us how many people visited each page — nothing more.
The in-app feedback form creates a GitHub issue with the message you write. If you include your email in the feedback form, it is stored only in the GitHub issue. We do not have a mailing list or marketing database.
Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as our Merchant of Record. Lemon Squeezy handles your payment information, tax collection, and receipts. BarkCard never sees or stores your credit card details. See Lemon Squeezy's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle payment data.
BarkCard stores all data locally on your device. We do not maintain any database of user information, accounts, or profiles on our servers.
To delete your data: uninstall BarkCard. All sessions, video clips, and profile data are stored in the app's local data directory and are removed when the app is uninstalled. You can also delete individual sessions and all clips from Settings > Storage within the app.
To opt out of telemetry: go to Settings > Telemetry and turn off "Send anonymous data." No further data will be sent.
To request information about your data: since we don't store any personal data on our servers, there is nothing to provide. The only data we may have is anonymous telemetry events (app version, OS, crash reports) which contain no identifying information and cannot be linked to you.
